Actually, he's right. It's much faster to buy it.

You can buy it from the Rare Materials Trader, but it's usually significantly cheaper if you can find another player who will sell it.

It's possible to earn the shards but it takes a lot more time and effort, especially since you need that many.

Probably Urgoz Speed clears in a guild that does that alot. 20-30 mins a run, and you get a whole bunch of amber, and a whole bunch of faction you can turn into amber. Quicker option however, do a proper farm, earn 60k, buy the amber.

Why not do some vaniquishing to get the faction or maybe Fort Aspenwood and you get keys whick you can sell to buy some more amber?

If you do want the Kurzick title, then try and find some people (ie. a guild) for DTSC or UrgozSC I guess.

If you don't care about the Kurzick title, just buy the amber and do something more profitable and/or interesting.

An average player one not capable of speed clearing areas is far better buying the Amber at around 800 a chunk, since almost anything you do in the game gains you money.

Amber seldom drops as is and salvaging items made from amber is also frustrating as again its a rare result.

You can farm for faction points and hand them in for Amber and if you have a load of characters to run through the Kurzic missions you can get a load of points.
Then you vanquish and vanquish till you reach enough kurzic points and at 5000 per unit it takes a while.

400,000 points against 65 to 80k on average

forgive me if my maths is out its 1am here and i'm getting tired

Combination of Urgoz Speedclears and buy some, of the gold u get from the SC's
Is the fastest way imo

(ofc buying is faster... but thats not an option for u)

Ignore those suggesting Speed clears and Urgoz. It may be technically true, but the problem is that it's for very experienced players.

For a regular player, buying the amber is actually a reasonable suggestion. How long does it take you to earn the 800 gold compared to the 5000 faction? The Zaishen quests, the new content and quests can easily earn you money faster that way.

If you insist on earning your amber, consider:
-Jade Quarry/Fort Aspenwood, if you are into PvP
-Vanquishing and getting quests done along the way

For an average player who is neither total newb or expert I suggest vanquishing. Take 3 discord heroes and henchmen. Turn in faction for amber, merch/sell your drops and buy more amber. You can get elite tomes and with some luck a rare gold wep that can pay all the amber you need

Even better/faster if you can find a partner to go with you.

I'll throw my 2 cents into the "buy them" camp. It takes much less time to earn the gold to buy them than to get them by most other means - even speed clearing Urgoz's - there are other speed clears that would make you more gold.
